Volkl Gotama
$699.00
Released September, 2009
The Pros:Good carving ability in all kinds of snow. Good grip at high speeds, can always count on it to bite down. Floats over powder smoothly, generally won't sink.
The Cons:Heavy construction, a bit of a burden to lug around. Tends to accumulate a lot of scratches. Not flexible enough for beginner skiers.
The Volkl Gotama skis are designed for advanced and expert riders who are looking for powder and switch-riding performance but also a versatile everyday ski. Volkl has completely redesigned the Gotama and they now feature a revised sidecut of 137-106-122mm.

These skis also utilize Volkl’s flex-tuned Elongated Low-Profile (ELP) to help provide confidence in a variety of conditions ranging from groomed runs to deep powder to refrozen crud. The Gotama’s low tip shape should help prevent hooking on hard snow and crud without losing the float you need.
