Atomic D2 VC 72 Black

The D2 VC 72 Black are skis from Atomic’s 2009/2010 piste lineup. The “D2” is an abbreviation for double deck, where “VC” is an abbreviation for vario cut. Vario cut refers to the ski’s densolite core, which has been constructed to allow the radius of the ski to automatically adjust to the speed and style of the skier.

The “72” refers to the waist width, while “Black” refers to the actual color of the ski. The more pressure applied to the ski, the wider the front and rear section will become. The D2 VC’s radius has the ability to become smaller by up to 6 meters in shorter turns – the normal difference between a slalom and a giant slalom ski. Atomic claims the D2 VC is the first ski which allows novice skiers to achieve perfect carves regardless of the ski’s radius.
